In a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Gal shared how she reacted when she found out she landed the role of the female superhero – she actually screamed while she was on a plane!
After auditioning for two weeks with director Zack Snyder, Gal had no idea what role she was auditioning for. The whole process was shrouded in secrecy, with Snyder not revealing any details until later.
“It was all super confidential, I had no idea what I was auditioning for,” said the Israeli actress.
Famous actors Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill seemed to match their styles for the event, both donning beige suits and stylish leather shoes. In an interview with Ellen, Gal Gadot shared a funny story about how she had to act nonchalant when director Zack Snyder asked if she had heard of Wonder Woman. She humorously recounted how she tried to play it cool but couldn’t contain her excitement when she landed the coveted role, despite living a busy life between Los Angeles and her hometown in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Affleck flashed a smile and waved to the cheering crowd. During a recent chat with Ellen, she shared the exciting moment when she found out about landing the role: “As soon as the plane landed, I checked my phone and saw thirty missed calls from my agents… I called them right there in my seat and they told me I got the part, but I couldn’t tell anyone at that moment, so I just let out a big ‘Arrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggh’ and everyone stared at me in shock.” Beyond appearing as Wonder Woman alongside Ben’s Batman and Henry’s Superman on March 25, Gal will also star in her own standalone Wonder Woman movie set to hit theaters on June 23, 2017.
